About

(note: our site is currently under (re)construction)

Chrysolis is a small non-profit, registered as a charity in the UK. We operate mostly within Europe, and have an especial accent on public engagement with the Christian faith.

Though we have initiated a handful of our own freestanding projects, we more frequently operate by coming alongside existing organizations and groups to help them design fresh and creative ways to engage the people and contexts around them.

Our partners in this are always locally-led, and are very often involved in the university or student context, though not exclusively.

Through our Engage project, for example, our staff and volunteers have worked especially closely with the International Fellowship of Evangelical Students on developing national projects in countries around Europe, as well as on continent-wide initiatives.

In terms of our own freestanding projects, one example is Advance, a ‘hub for thinking faith’ we helped develop and run for a number of years in Bucharest, Romania:

Our Romanian work became independent in late 2020, with an all-local board and team, and our relationship shifted to one of support and advice.

The most recent project we have supported is invisible castle, which aims to describe a fresh approach to communication about Jesus, especially among emerging generations.

The project includes free articles and a podcast, as well as physical resources, and live events — the first of these is happening in association with the London Institute for Contemporary Christianity (LICC) in March 2024.

We are happy to work with a wide range of groups and people, and our work always includes warmly generous open-handed conversations.

Our own theological emphases are best summarised by the Nicene Creed — the statement shared by all Christians; Protestant, Orthodox, or Catholic — and the Evangelical Alliance basis of faith.
